Lara McKnight, OD, grew up in both eastern Nevada and the western valley of Oregon where she attended Willamette University for her B.S. degree, and Pacific University College of Optometry for her doctorate. Dr. McKnight completed an optometric ocular disease residency at the Cincinnati Eye Institute through The Ohio State University in 2003. During her residency, she received specialized training in ocular surface disease, surgical pre and post operative care, diabetic and retinal disease, and glaucoma management.
Dr. McKnight has been practicing in Reno and Carson City since 2003. She took a break from clinical practice during 2009-2011 to teach ocular anatomy and anterior segment ocular disease at an optometry college in Texas. She is a fifth generation Nevadan, and enjoys travel in her free time.
