Latisse

latisse_logoLATISSEĀ® is an FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (loss or lack of eyelashes), and is used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. The active drug in Latisse, bimatoprost, was originally developed as a topical treatment for glaucoma; it has been used for years as an eye drop, and was eventually found to increase and lengthen eyelashes in glaucoma patients.

Latisse is applied topically, directly to the edge of the eyelids, at the base of the eyelashes. Though Latisse is safe, uncommon side effects can occur, such as hyperpigmentation of the eyelid skin and darkening of the iris. Ask the doctors at Sierra Nevada Eye Center if Latisse can be prescribed for you.
