A Refreshed
Look, Inside and Out.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® soften facial wrinkles and frown lines, and Latisse® helps you grow longer, fuller lashes. We also treat facial twitching with BOTOX®.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® for facial wrinkles and frown lines
- Latisse® available for lash growth
- BOTOX® also treats blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm
Am I a Candidate for BOTOX & Cosmetic?
Cosmetic or medical: BOTOX is used both ways. Cosmetic treatment is self-pay. If twitching is the concern, an evaluation can determine whether treatment is medically necessary.
A consultation clarifies which path applies to you, including whether insurance coverage is likely.
Eyelid Surgery and Cosmetic Treatment Options
Cosmetic and medical BOTOX care at Sierra Nevada Eye Center covers two related goals: refreshing your appearance and treating facial twitching.
On the cosmetic side, BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® relax the small facial muscles responsible for expression lines, softening wrinkles and frown lines over a few days. The treatment is applied through a series of tiny injections, takes just a few minutes in the office, and typically needs to be repeated every three to four months. For longer, fuller eyelashes, we offer Latisse®, a prescription treatment applied nightly that builds visible results over several weeks.
On the medical side, BOTOX® also treats blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Constant twitching of the face, especially around the eyes, can be a sign of either condition.

locationsFrequently Asked Questions
Will insurance cover my treatment?
BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, and Latisse are self-pay. BOTOX used to treat conditions such as blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm may be covered by insurance when medically necessary. We can help you understand which applies at your consultation.
How long do BOTOX and Dysport results last?
Results typically last three to four months before a touch-up is needed, though this varies by individual.
What is Latisse used for?
Latisse is a prescription treatment that promotes longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes over several weeks of consistent use.
Can I combine cosmetic treatment with a medical eye exam visit?
Yes. Many patients discuss cosmetic goals during a routine visit, and we can schedule a dedicated cosmetic consultation as needed.
Is BOTOX only for wrinkles?
No. Along with cosmetic use, BOTOX treats blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm, conditions that cause constant twitching of the face, especially around the eyes.
Is there downtime after BOTOX?
No. Treatment takes just a few minutes, and most patients return to normal activities right away. Minor redness or bruising at injection sites can occur.
What’s the difference between BOTOX and Dysport?
Both are botulinum treatments that relax the muscles under the skin to reduce wrinkles. They work in a similar way, and your provider can help you choose.
